At designing electricity distribution networks in SiCAD, the designer can choose the online map from the list: OpenStreetMap, Google Street Map or Google Satellite Map and others. It is also possible to include mapping of cadastral layers, soil maps and data from geographic information systems (GIS) of regional energy production companies. This function allows user to design with complete information about existing electricity networks. An additional panel of layers of GIS of the regional energy production companies, allows to display exactly the networks and objects that the user needs.

The user can download their own topographic map under the plan of the electricity network. Download of topographic bases is described in the tutorial “SiCAD toolbar for creating a plan of 0.4 – 35 kV electricity network on the online maps”
